While some steel window and door companies manufacture their products overseas, we proudly make ours in Australia, using Australian steel. This means we have absolute control over the process and can work with you at every stage – from initial enquiry right through to installation.
Lead by Director James Pridgeon, Steel Window Design has been in operation for over 10 years and has forged great relationships with architects and building teams alike.
We are passionate about sustainability
Our steel windows and doors are manufactured at our factory in Preston, Victoria which is run off 100% solar power. We also use accredited Australian suppliers and products in our manufacturing process, ensuring our frames do not harbour traces of Forever Chemicals or PFAS, which are commonly used in the manufacturing process of products brought in from overseas.
Custom designs produced by qualified metal fabricators
Our fabrication team is comprised of qualified metal fabricators, some of whom have worked throughout Europe crafting quality steel windows and intricate steel designs.
Everything we produce is custom and one of a kind. This means you don’t need to retro-fit sizes or designs – we’re only limited by your imagination.
We offer exceptional service
What also sets us apart is our service – we’re with you every step of the way. You can visit our showroom, try our products and see where your windows and doors are being made. Our backgrounds in building and engineering also mean our products don’t just look good, they work exceptionally well.
We warrant our work
At Steel Window Design we offer a 10-year warranty on all our frames and a 2-year warranty on hardware, some conditions apply. This means if there’s ever an issue, we won’t walk away, we’ll work with you to resolve it.

Our ordering process
1. Request a quote
Either via email, phone or on our website.
2. Site measure and shop drawings
We’ll either conduct a site measure or ask you to provide measurements.
Our in-house design and drafting team will then work with you to produce shop drawings, detailing your designs.
3. Project moves into Fabrication
Our expert metal fabricators hand make your steel windows and doors to your specifications.
4. Finishings, hardware and quality checks
Your frames go to finishes; sandblasting and powder coating. They are then fitted with locks and hardware before their final quality checks.
5. Delivery, Installation and Glazing
Our in-house installation and glazing team come out to site to install your steel windows and doors. If you’re outside Victoria, your frames will be glazed and shipped direct to your door.
